You might remember Laura and Jesse’s engagement photos–you won’t regret clicking that link, there’s a great dane and giant balloons. We’d been looking forward to this wedding for a long time. I met Laura in law school, where I seriously admired her deep commitment to justice and her sense of humor (comic relief in law school is always welcome!). I knew that their celebration was going to be incredible, both because these two have impeccable taste and because I was promised a rowdy, heartfelt party. And all my expectations were thoroughly exceeded!
I mean, just look at Laura’s ensemble and the coordinating bridesmaid shirts. You know you’re in for a beautiful wedding.
Jesse’s tux was pretty dang sharp, too!
Here was one of Laura’s only requests — the look on Jesse’s face as she walked down the aisle.
Unfortunately, a number of people important to Laura and Jesse couldn’t make it to their wedding because of hurricanes, including their officiant. Another of our law school classmates stepped in at the last minute and did a beautiful job.
Lakewood Country Club, your ceremony location is perfection.
How about that hand-lettering on acrylic?? So classy. Beautiful work by Pen & Paper By Abigail
Great toasts by all! The crowd was both laughing heartily and wiping away tears during these terrific speeches.
The best part of this reception was absolutely La Hora Loca — a Latin tradition that Laura’s friends and family from the Dominican Republic led. It’s been a while since we’ve seen people having this much fun on a dance floor.
Laura and Jesse, we are so happy for you! Heartfelt thanks for including us in your celebration. It was such an honor to spend the day with your incredible community. P.S. that tres leches cake from Azucar Bakery was DELICIOUS.
